SDUK Partner with Blue Light Card Foundation

SDUK Supporting More Emergency Services Heroes Thanks to the Blue Light Card Foundation

We’re thrilled to share that Service Dogs UK have partnered with the Blue Light Card Foundation to support Emergency Services personnel living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This vital support will allow us to provide life-changing partnerships between PTSD Assistance Dogs and those from the blue light community – including paramedics, police officers, firefighters, and other frontline staff – who are struggling with the lasting effects of trauma.

Many of these individuals have experienced deeply challenging situations while serving and protecting others. Our programme offers a unique and powerful route to recovery – one that pairs each person with a dog, usually from rescue, and together they undertake our 9–12 month training programme at the end of which their dog becomes an ADI Accredited PTSD Assistance Dog. Our programme builds trust and confidence, giving both Veterans and dogs the tools and support to rebuild their lives together.

Our mission is simple – to transform lives – two at a time – by training dogs, mostly from rescue, as PTSD Assistance Dogs for those who’ve served our communities and country. Thanks to the Blue Light Card Foundation’s backing, we can now extend that impact even further across the Emergency Services.

We’re incredibly grateful for this partnership, which will help more blue light personnel feel supported, seen, and never alone. For more information about the Blue Light Foundation, visit their website.
